PowerSpec LCD TVs may experience a problem getting channel 5 and 6 or they may only receive channels 5 and 6. This is because the Cable TV mode is set incorrectly. By default the TV is set up to use STD mode. Depending on your cable provider and location you may need to operate on IRC or HRC mode rather than STD. These modes will capture channels at different frequencies. The reason why only channels 5 and 6 are affected is because they are the only channels that do not follow the frequency pattern of the others.

To change the cable mode please follow these steps:

  1. Turn the TV on.
  2. Press the TV button on the remote.
  3. Press the Menu button on the remote.
  4. Use the right arrow to highlight TV and then press Enter on the remote.
  5. Highlight the ANT/CATV section.
  6. Use the left and right arrow buttons to choose the desired mode.

Here is a list of the available modes:

ANT = Antenna
STD = Standard (cable mode)
IRC = Incrementally related carriers (cable mode)
HRC = Harmonically related carriers (cable mode)
