After getting the latest firmware dated 11/22/04 or higher, there is a feature called AVC that automatically adjusts the volume of your TV to balance the volume to not have peaks of sound too low or too high. This feature can be turned on and off.

1. Make sure the TV is turned off
2. Press and hold the volume up key on the TV
3. Press the power button and release
4. It should now indicate if the AVC is turned on or off
5. To toggle simply repeat the steps above
