This article describes the process for calibrating the battery on a WinBook A700 series notebook. When a battery is not holding a charge as well as it should, running the battery calibration may correct the problem. There is no auto calibration feature on the WinBook A700 series notebook. Follow the steps listed below to run a manual calibration on the battery. It may be necessary to run the calibration multiple times to regain full functionality to the battery.

  1. Perform a full shut down on the computer by clicking on Start, go to Turn Off Computer or Shut Down, and choose Turn off or Shut Down. If the computer is already turned off continue to the next step.
  2. Turn the computer on and immediately after begin tapping the F2 key repeatedly as the computer boots. This will boot the computer into the BIOS Setup Utility.
  3. When in the BIOS Setup Utility, unplug the ac adapter from the computer.
  4. The battery will drain until the computer turns off.
  5. Once the computer turns off, connect the ac adapter and charge the battery until it is fully charged.
  6. This completes a full calibration cycle of the battery.
