In some cases one may be a need to remove or reseat the modem in the WinBook A700 series notebook. Follow these directions to remove or reseat the modem.

 

  1. Turn OFF the computer. Disconnect the AC cord and all cables/devices attached to the notebook.
  2. Carefully turn the notebook over and lay it on a flat surface.
  3. Locate and remove the eight (8) screws from the system device compartment cover.

  1. Remove the cover.
  2. The modem is located in the lower right corner of the system device compartment. The modem is pictured below:

  1. Remove the two (2) screws that hold the modem in place.
  2. Gently lift the modem out of the computer.

 

Note: To reseat the modem do not continue with the following steps. Insert the modem back into the computer and secure it with the two (2) screws. Lastly, replace the system device compartment panel.

 

  1. To fully remove the modem from the computer, unplug the cable that connects the modem to the computer.
  2. Replace the system device compartment cover and secure it with the eight (8) screws.
