In some cases it may be a necessary to remove or reseat the optical drive in the WinBook A700 series notebook. Follow these directions to remove or reseat the optical drive.  

  1. Turn OFF the computer. Disconnect the AC cord and all cables/devices attached to the notebook.
  2. Carefully turn the notebook over and lay it on a flat surface.
  3. Remove the two (2) screws that secure the optical drive to the notebook. (see picture below)

  1. Insert a paper clip into the emergency eject hole on the optical drive to open the optical drive tray.

  1. Do NOT pull on the drive bezel (front plastic cover); use a more sturdy part of the drive to gently pull the optical drive outward until the drive comes out.

  1. The optical drive is now removed from the computer.
  2. To reseat the drive, insert the drive back into the computer.
  3. Secure it to the notebook with the two (2) screws.
