This article demonstrates how to install/upgrade the memory in the WinBook W200 series notebook computers.

  1. Turn OFF the computer. Disconnect the AC cord remove the battery and disconnect all cables/devices attached to the notebook.
  2. Carefully turn the notebook over and lay it on a flat surface.
  3. Locate and remove the seven (7) screws from the system device compartment cover. (Figure 1)

  1. Remove the cover.
  2. If the removal of existing memory is required, press out on the latches located on both edges of the socket at the same time. The memory should pop up at an angle. (Figure 2)

  1. Install the new memory module into the memory socket. It will only fit in one direction. Insert the module at an angle of approximately 30 degrees into the empty memory socket. (Figure 3)

  1. Press downward on the memory until it lays flat. There should be an audible click as the latches of the slot connector secure the memory into place.
  2. Replace the system device compartment cover and secure it with the seven (7) screws.
