NOTE: You, the customer, are solely responsible for data security. WinBook strongly recommends that you perform a backup of all personal data contained on your system prior to performing this procedure. Warning: WinBook will NOT be held responsible for any data loss incurred during this process.

The battery on your WinBook C-100 series computer should be cycled three times when it is new and then one time a month thereafter. This should help extend the life of the battery and help it function better.

  1. Ensure that the battery is at a full charge prior to cycling. Connecting the AC adapter to the computer for four to six hours should be sufficient to bring it to a full charge.
  2. Turn the computer on and the message Press F10 to start system recovery will appear. After pressing the F10 key the message "Starting system recovery" will appear.

    Note:
Doing this procedure will not actually run the system recovery as it will never actually enter the process.

  3. The computer will stop at the License Agreement asking you to agree. Do not click on either option .
  4. Unplug the computer and simply let the computer run until it shuts off. The computer may beep indicating the battery is low If so, just ignore it and let the computer discharge the battery completely.
  5. Connect the computer to the AC adapter and bring it to a full charge again. Note: The computer can be used while it is charging, but it may take two to four hours longer to completely charge.
