To replace the hard drive on the Winbook C200 series model 8081, take the following steps:

  1. Disconnect AC power, turn the computer upside down and remove the battery. Orient the unit so the optical drive is to the left.
  2. Remove the two screws from the rectangular panel in the lower left-hand corner of unit.
  1. Using the strap provided, move the hard drive to the left to unplug the connector.
  1. Carefully lift the drive out of the computer and place on secure flat surface with HDD label facing down. This will make the four screws attaching the drive to the mounting bracket accessible.
  2. Remove the four screws. Please note these screws are shorter than the two securing the cover panel. Separate the bracket from the drive.
  3. Attach the bracket to the hard drive using the four shorter screws.
  4. Carefully slide the drive and bracket so the pins on the drive engage the drive connector in the drive bay.
  5. Replace the hard drive bay cover using the two longer screws.
  6. Replace the battery.
  7. Verify the proper recognition of the hard drive during P.O.S.T - you may need to enter setup one time and save the new correct settings. Your hard drive is now ready to be partitioned and formatted for use.
