When a battery is not holding a charge as well as it should, running the battery calibration may correct the problem. There is an auto calibration feature on the WinBook X600 series notebook. Follow the steps listed below to run the auto calibration on the battery. It may be necessary to run the calibration multiple times to regain full functionality to the battery.

  1. Turn the computer off.
  2. Turn the computer on and tap the F2 key repeatedly as the notebook boots. Tap the key at a rate of about twice per second. This will enter the computer into the BIOS Setup Utility.
  3. Once in the BIOS Setup utility, use the right arrow key on the keyboard to highlight Power.
  4. Use the down arrow key to highlight "Start Battery Calibration".
  5. Press Enter.
  6. If the battery is not fully charged there will be a message requesting to plug in the AC adapter. Connect the AC adapter. The computer will charge the battery until it is fully charged.
  7. Once the battery has been fully charged the computer will ask for the AC adapter to be removed. Remove the AC adapter. The battery will now drain until the computer turns off. This process may take several hours.
  8. Connect the AC adapter after the unit has turned off. The battery will begin to charge. It does not matter if the computer is off or on during the charging process. Leaving the computer off will charge the battery faster than turning the computer on. Do not disconnect the AC adapter until the battery has been fully charged.
  9. This completes one full battery calibration cycle.
