In the Livewire package is the following:

  • NMC Livewire PCMCIA Ethernet adapter card
  • UPC (RJ - 45) adapter
  • BNC (coax) adapter
  • Installation disk, quick start card, user’s manual, and registration card

IMPORTANT: If you are running Windows 95 on you WinBook XP5 do not install any disk that comes with your card?

To install our Livewire card:

  1. From your desktop, insert your card.
  2. Windows will say it has found new hardware and will begin to install the software needed for it.
  3. If you have not set up any networking, windows will ask for to computer and workgroup name and a computer description.
  4. At this point windows will say it needs to reboot, follow through with this as soon as possible.
  5. If you have not set up any networking, windows will then prompt you for a user name and password. Windows will then ask you to reconfirm your password. The name and password are necessary if you want to connect to a network.
  6. After this, if your volume is turned up you will hear two tones. These tones will be one low and one high.
  7. To finish there will be added to your desktop and Network Neighborhood icon.
  8. Connect the proper cable to your Livelier and contact you network administrator to connect to you network.
