The table below shows a list of WinBook models produced to date. The results of WinBook testing for Year 2000 Compliance are shown directly to the right of each model. (Below the table is a brief list of testing procedures used.

Please note: Even though a model may be fully Year 2000 Compliant, the software programs used on that computer must be Year 2000 Compliant as well.

WinBook has shipped the following operating systems to date:

  • MS-DOS 6.22
  • Windows 3.1
  • Windows for Workgroups 3.11
  • Windows 95 (versions 950 through 950C)
  • Windows 98

WinBook SLC

Not Compliant

The computer will not roll over to the year 2000 automatically. It must be manually set to the year 2000. It will then keep the date correctly.

WinBook SX/DX

Not Compliant

The computer will only roll over to the year 2000 when it is left on. If the computer is off during the transition from 1999 to 2000, the date will roll back to 1990.

WinBook XP

Not Compliant

The computer will not roll over to the year 2000 automatically. It must be manually set to the year 2000. It will then keep the date correctly thereafter.

WinBook XP5

Not Compliant

The computer will not roll over to the year 2000 automatically. It must be manually set to the year 2000. It will then keep the date correctly thereafter.

Testing Procedures Used:

  1. Booted unit into the system BIOS and set the date & time to 12/31/99 at 23:55 hours.
  2. Saved the BIOS settings and exited.
  3. Rebooted the computer.
  4. After 10 minutes reentered the BIOS and checked the time and date.
  5. Turned the computer off and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  6. Turned the computer on and checked the BIOS.
  7. Reset the BIOS to 12/31/99 at 23:55 hours.
  8. Saved settings and exited.
  9. Turned the computer off.
  10. Waited ten minutes, turned computer back on and checked BIOS time and date.
